Amankora is Aman Resorts' Bhutan operation — five lodges, one in each principal western and central valley, opened between 2004 and 2007. The original premium-accommodation infrastructure in the country; the brand that shaped the market. The five-lodge circuit at 72 suites total is designed as a single multi-night journey rather than five individual stays.

Amankora Paro opened in 2004 as the first of what would become the five-lodge Amankora circuit. Twenty-four suites set in a pine forest at the southern end of the Paro valley, designed by Kerry Hill — the principal arrival and departure lodge for the Amankora journey.

Amankora Thimphu sits on a forested ridge in the upper Motithang area above the city, with views across Thimphu to Tashichho Dzong and the surrounding mountains. The principal cultural-introduction stop on the Amankora circuit — the natural base for the country's cultural orientation.

Amankora Punakha is the warm-valley lodge of the circuit — the smallest of the five Amankora properties at eight suites, set in a converted 300-year-old farmhouse beside the Mo Chhu river. Widely considered the most atmospheric in the circuit. The Punakha valley sits at approximately 1,200 metres, with the mild winter climate that made Punakha the country's historical winter capital.

Amankora Gangtey is the highland lodge of the Amankora circuit — sited on the forested ridge across the Phobjikha valley from Gangtey Monastery, with views across the broad U-shaped glacial valley below and the wintering black-necked cranes in their season. The high-altitude clarity and the substantial valley silence make it one of the most atmospheric premium lodges in the country.

Amankora Bumthang is the easternmost of the five Amankora lodges, set in the Choekhor valley (the principal Bumthang valley) immediately adjacent to the Wangduecholing Palace heritage site — the summer palace of His Majesty the Second Druk Gyalpo. The principal base for the Bumthang religious circuit, the country's most concentrated single area of important Buddhist sites.
