Gangtey Lodge is the independent boutique luxury lodge in the Phobjikha valley — opened in 2013 as one of the first boutique luxury properties outside the multi-lodge brand circuits (Amankora, Six Senses). Twelve suites on the ridge at approximately 3,000 metres overlooking the valley. A premium-but-not-ultra-luxury alternative to Amankora Gangtey and Six Senses Gangtey in the same valley.

Gangtey Lodge is independent — not part of an international hospitality brand. The principal Phobjikha boutique option for visitors not booking the Amankora or Six Senses brand circuits. Twelve suites is comparable in scale to the brand lodges in the same valley (Amankora Gangtey: 8 suites; Six Senses Gangtey: 8 villas) but at a substantially lower price point. Substantial luxury at a different price; the trade-off is the brand-operational consistency of the international circuits.
Same ridge-top position with valley views that the Amankora and Six Senses Gangtey lodges share — all three properties are within walking distance of each other along the eastern ridge above the Phobjikha valley floor. The architectural style at Gangtey Lodge is more directly traditional Bhutanese vernacular than the Aman or Six Senses modernist-vernacular adaptations — closer to the village register of the surrounding Phobjikha settlements. All suites overlook the valley.
